OUR BACKGROUND
Rosa Mystica Spiritual Centre a Christian Centre is located in a leafy and exclusive suburb of Lavington-Kilimani area close to Junction Mall and occupies an area of 1.05 acres of land in Nairobi County (see Map below)
It is a Christian Guest House officially opened in November 2005 to offer hospitality services and prayerful environment to groups and individuals.
Due to its location and accessibility, it hosts events such as retreats, weddings, religious profession, team building, seminars and workshops. It is also conducive for rest and personal reflection.
It offers a variety of meals including African dishes, English and French cuisines.
OWNERSHIP
The Centre is privately owned and managed by Franciscan Sister of St. Anna (FSSA) under the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi.
MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Centre was put up primarily with the following objectives:
- To extend the apostolate FSSA in Nairobi Archdiocese by providing an alternative and affordable facility for spiritual reflection, seminar and workshops.
- As an income generating facility for the FSSA and any surplus income generated from it is to be channeled to the central account of the congregation for sustainability of the social ministry of FSSA special institutions e.g. special schools and orphanages run and managed by FSSA sisters.
These institutions include school for vision, impaired hearing, physically and mentally impaired. These institutions form the main apostolate of FSSA sisters. They were started in the Netherlands in 1938 and extended to Kenya in 1958. These institutions had heavily depended on donations from church related institutions from abroad which are either on decline or have stopped altogether.
The FSSA put a lot of effort on RMSC to raise enough income so as to give these disadvantaged children the dignity they deserve and the opportunity to exploit their God given talents.
